Origins skin care, with the tag line “the genius of nature,” prides itself on using natural ingredients to help with common skin problems like aging, oily skin, and sun protection.

Within the Origins brand, there are numerous skin care lines to choose from. They have cleansers, tonics, acne/shine control products, moisturizers, scrubs, eye care, shaving care, sun care, masks, and body products, to name a few. The Origins skin care line called A Perfect World uses a special ingredient called silver tip white tea. This line is said to protect against:

Protection is provided by the antioxidants in the white tea. The line includes a skin guard, moisturizers, and eye treatments.

Dr. Andrew Weil is a Harvard trained doctor who focuses on botany when it comes to skin care. In addition to writing his monthly Prevention magazine column and consulting on various television programs, Dr. Weil helped to develop a line of skin care for Origins that includes a face serum and face cream and liquid supplements for skin defense or overnight restoration of skin.

One of his most promising new lines is the Plantidote Mega-Mushroom Intro Set. This set includes the Mega-Mushroom Face Serum for radiance and clarity, and the Mega-Mushroom Face Cream for firmness and protection against moisture loss and oxidation.

All of the profits from this line go to the non-profit organization, the Weil Foundation. The Weil Foundation helps fund training in integrative medicine for doctors, along with having interests in policy reform, research, patient care, and more.

Origins has launched the beginnings of a new organic line. This line has three products in it thus far.

• Nourishing Oil for Face. Includes safflower oil for moisture and rapeseed oil for oxidation protection.
• Nourishing Oil for Body and Massage. Includes nine essential oils and has jojoba for giving body a healthy glow.
• Nourishing Oil for Hair. Includes olive and sesame seed oils for hydration.

The 100% organic refers to the way the ingredients are grown and processed. The oils are free of insecticides, pesticides and herbicides.

Additionally, Origins has a skin care line geared towards men. With more and more men becoming concerned about the environment, aging, and other irritants, Origins has developed different shaving oils and creams, body washes, aftershaves and lip balms to help men with their grooming.

One of the newest products is the FireFighter Plus. It is a “beard-taming after shave smoother.” This product has ingredients like Saw Palmetto and Licorice Root to stop the burning after shaving. Additionally, it delays the appearance of the five-o’clock-shadow and reduces redness. The lotion is oil-free, so it will not promote breakouts.
