Elisa, again, your situation is definitely not uncommon. Pimples are not necessarily hereditary, so even if your family members have clear skin, it unfortunately doesn't mean that you will follow that path. However, it's also important to note that your skin will undoubtedly clear up over time. As I mentioned, much of this is due to fluctuating hormones and oily skin. If you are worried or do not experience results using anti-acne products, you might want to visit a dermatologist.

hi , its me again , but why do you think that has caused me acne since i was 10 years old ??? i started ouberty when i was 11 . My family has a history of oily skin , but noone has ever had acne , or pimpels when they wer 10 or even older !!!!! thnx in advance !!!!!

Elisa, thanks so much for your question. It's very possible that the pimples around your mouth are being caused by your toothpaste. The fluoride in toothpaste can be very harsh on the skin and cause a breakout, even if it's just near the area around your mouth. You might want to try out a natural, fluoride-free toothpaste (Tom's of Maine makes a good one that you can find at most grocery and drugstores).

Redness, oiliness and pimples do unfortunately go hand in hand. Given your age, your hormones are in overdrive and can easily cause your skin to appear like its out of control. Invest in a line of products for oily skin - Clean & Clear makes decent and affordable items - and stick with them unless you suffer any sensitivity to them. If your acne is truly severe, your dermatologist might prescribe a prescription product to help.

hi , im elisa , and i am 14. i have very oily skin but , though i have e good regime i ALWAYS have pimples around the mouth , and though i dont really get pimples in my nose i have lots pf blocked pores. however this is the lowes t grade of suffering because when i was ten i had much more pimples. my family has oily skin , and even tey dont care at all about it they dont get pimples, anotherproblem is tat my face looks always red(even if its not irritaded) and when i exfoliate, the nextday i dont see any change. please give me some reasons why all these happen to me and some good adivice , thanks in advance

Hi, Arshad. Sorry to hear about your troubles! Your oily skin and acne go hand in hand. The dandruff is a separate issue, but you can attack that with a shampoo formulated to get rid of it (Neutrogena makes an excellent one called T-Gel, which you may be able to purchase on eBay India if you can't find it in stores near you).

As for your skin, the pimples will go away eventually. Use a product with salicylic acid to kill the bacteria; this may help. Drink plenty of water, and if you're interested in more natural remedies, visit our article on Natural Skin Care for Acne. Best of luck.

Aman, oily skin is nothing to worry about. Your oil seems to be in the normal area - the T-zone. While it can't be "cured," per se, it can be reduced with the help of products geared toward your skin type. It's essential to seek out products that soak up excess sebum and control shine. You'd be wise to seek out a gel cleanser (as opposed to something creamy), as well as an oil-free moisturizer to keep your oiliness at bay. Good luck.
