Bashuah, thanks for your question. I would recommend steaming once a week. It is very enjoyable, and it's especially good for your skin, but some people have reported breaking out over time with excessive use. Just to be on the safe side, err on the side of caution.
-- Contributed by: Tsharmashould is steam everyday, or is that bad for your skin? i really enjoy it... what is your suggestion?
-- Contributed by: bashuahNadia, thanks for your question. Ten minutes is definitely enough time to reap the benefits of a facial steam treatment. Some even recommend using it for as little as five minutes. You don't want to overdo it with a facial steamer; there is a risk of broken capillaries with excessive use.
-- Contributed by: TsharmaI am in the processing of purchasing a professional facial steamer, like the one my cosmetician uses. What is the longest time I should spend under the steam? She usually leaves me there for 10 minutes, but I never feel it's enough time.
-- Contributed by: NadiaValerie, thanks for your question. It's recommend that you cleanse prior to using the steamer.
-- Contributed by: TsharmaWhen do you use the steamer? Before the cleaning or during the mask? Thanks Valerie
-- Contributed by: ValerieMehwish, you can add the essential oil of your choice to a facial steamer. Tea tree oil and lavender oil are especially beneficial in treating acne. There are a couple of recommendations for facial steamers within the article - Conair's, in particular, is highly regarded. Let us know if you have any more questions!
-- Contributed by: TsharmaI am breaking out badly on my face and I heard using steamers is effective. I am willing to buy a steamer, I just do not know what type and what type of cleansers of cream/moisturizers would be healthy? Can herbs be used with the steamers? Please help me out.
-- Contributed by: MehwishThanks for your question, Sandie! Frankincense, geranium, neroli, myrrh, lemon and rose oils are all recommended for mature skin. Some act as natural antiseptics, while others soothe excessively dry areas and leave the skin soft and nourished.
-- Contributed by: TsharmaWhat herbs/essential oils would you recommend using for the "older" woman.
-- Contributed by: SandieA. Rozmund, thanks for your question! Though there are no set rules for how often you can use your steamer, a good starting point is once a week. Some people use it twice a week, others use it once every two weeks. It's up to you and how your skin feels. As for cleansing, do so prior to using the steamer.
-- Contributed by: TsharmaHow often should i use my facial steamer? and should i was my face first or afterwards or both?
