Julie, I really feel your pain. I also suffer from seborrheic dermatitis and it can be quite difficult to keep under control. Cetaphil is one of those products that dermatologists tend to recommend because it's so mild. For those of us with very dry skin, though, Cetaphil may not be moisturizing enough. I highly recommend researching this list of comedogenic and irritating ingredients. It's proven especially helpful for sensitive and acne-prone individuals and may help you determine which ingredients in particular cause you distress.
I strongly recommend TriCeram for your seborrheic dermatitis. It runs around $30, but it's worth the relief you'll most likely experience. It wipes out excess dryness almost instantly and is also very soothing.
Clinique's new Redness Solutions line has been receiving rave reviews. This cream-gel cleanser is formulated to soothe the skin and calm redness and irritation. It goes for just under $21.
Hope this helps a bit. Good luck to you.
-- Contributed by: TsharmaMy dermatologist says I should take Cetaphil to relieve my rosacea and seborrheic dermatitis on my skin. I can describe my rosacea as being very blotchy, pimply and red. It is even pimply under my breast, my arm pits, neck, behind ears, and face. As for my seborrheic dermatitis it is extremely dry. I have moderate to high severity of rosacea. Aren't they're drying effects and other ingredients in cetaphil that will make it more red and dry. What other ingredients in other products besides those in cetaphill will make my skin breakout? I want to avoid those products. I am having a breakout right now but can't reach my dermatologist until may 22nd. I have tried eucerin sensitive facial skin daily perfecting lotion in spf 15 and that only made my skin very red and dry. What ingredients are doing this? Are there other creams you can recommend to me please? I don't want my skin to look this bad until the 22nd. I want something that is over the counter that I can buy at any drugstore possibly. Thank you. I don't have alot of money to spend as of now. Possibly something that is $25 or under.
-- Contributed by: JulieKathi, good question. I'd consider seeing a plastic surgeon, since this type of procedure will require a level of expertise they'd likely be most familiar with. I'm familiar with the case of a young man who had his shingles scars removed by a maxillofacial surgeon, however this is probably less common. Good luck.
-- Contributed by: TsharmaMy 21 yr. old daughter suffered a serious case of shingles when she was three. As a result she was left with two pitted scars between her eyes. Our insurance will cover treatment for the scarring, but we are confused about which type of doctor to choose and we are not familiar with the many procedures available.scary.

Visit one of the professional links in the article above for help in choosing a dermatologist near you. Good luck.
