Eclypsia, sorry to hear about this. Have you changed any products in your personal regimen lately - detergent, lotion or soap, for example? It's tough to determine what this could be otherwise. I'd suggest seeing a dermatologist. Best of luck.
-- Contributed by: TsharmaI have had a rash on my arms and legs for about two months that is itchy and at first looks like hives, but then the marks turn to small bumps (that don't appear to have any fluid in them,) and scab over WITHOUT scratching. The scabs linger for about 2-3 weeks each, even though I am a fast healer, and then leave a scar that doesn't seem to go away. Can you please help me identify this embarrassing rash?!
-- Contributed by: EclypsiaJen, it's possible you were exposed to something that caused this sudden outbreak. I'd visit a dermatologist at the earliest possible time to get this checked out. Good luck.
-- Contributed by: TsharmaI have the rash that looks like the one pictured above listed as common, only the bumps are less red. White in color. They come and go and are over my entire body. I also have swollen itchy hands. This all started yesterday morning out of the blue. I do not have any known allergies.
-- Contributed by: jenThat sounds (and looks) like eczema to me, Patricia. When I first began to deal with eczema, it manifested itself as raised, red patches on my ankles. A dermatologist can prescribe a medication for you, but in the meantime you can keep it well lubricated with Eucerin.
-- Contributed by: TsharmaHi, I have a rash like the picture above that is called common rash I have it on both feet at the ankle. Its itchy when dry and is raised and inflammed. I tried fluticasone 0.005% and lamisal neither one takes it away. What can I do to get rid of this ugly rash. I cant even wear cute shoes because its so noticible
-- Contributed by: PatriciaMarc, sorry to hear about this. That does sound uncomfortable. Permethrin is typically prescribed for scabies treatment - did your doctor diagnose you with this condition? I'd recommend sticking with the treatment, because two days in any case is simply not long enough to see results. be patient and definitely heed your doctor's advice! Best of luck.

-- Contributed by: TsharmaI am a 35 yr old man; I currently have a rash that covers pretty much my entire body. It is very itchy, small raised bumps; some seem to have fluid in them. It started on the elbow and spread to the other arm, it covers from my head to my calves. The rash is warm to the touch; I do not think I am running a fever. I have not changed my diet; I have nothing new in the house, same soaps, foods and pets. I did go and see a Doctor and he prescribed me Permethrin Cream 5% and Benadryl, but after day 2, all that I was suppose to use the cream for I still have the rash and it did not seem to get any better, any ideas, I am going to the doctor again in two days, but this is driving me crazy.
-- Contributed by: MarcBoupa, I'm sorry to hear about that. It's definitely possible that you're allergic to Gain. You might actually want to try one a detergent that's "free" - in other words, clear of any fragrances or dyes that could potentially irritate your skin. Tide makes a popular one. These "free" detergents are usually packaged in white bottles.
The dizziness seems like a separate issue. Please do see a doctor if this continues, as it's worth looking into. In the meantime, soothe your rash with an over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream (like Aveeno's). Good luck!
-- Contributed by: Tsharmamy itchiness looks like the first picture.
-- Contributed by: boupai believe i have an allergic reaction to possibly "Gain" laundry detergent. my boyfriend got it two weeks ago. we only make three loads with it, and i've been itchy. i think it's partly cause i'm breastfeeding also, so my hormones are all funky. i had an allergic reaction after my first pregnancy during my breast feeding period. this time i will have itchy bumps here and there and a few hours later it will be gone without a trace. it's been getting worse at night. sometimes the itchy bumps will connect and my whole are or leg will swell. a couple hours later it will be gone. sometimes at night i will have a hard time breathing and cough up phlem. so my boyfriend got a different detergent which is the arm and hammer "dermatogolist tested." I made a load last nigh and we shall see the outcome. everyone says i should see a doctor, which i will if it continues. right now i'm at work and i'm kinda dizzy feels like i have a buzz from alcohol. i've never really had a proplem with any laundry detergent, and yet i'm no doctor but that's the only thing that has changed in the house. could it be seasonal allergies? well thanks!
-- Contributed by: boupaElizabeth, I'm sorry to hear that! It sounds like you've been dealing with some serious discomfort. I would highly recommend seeing a dermatologist. It sounds like you could be dealing with any number of things - an allergic reaction or some form of dermatitis, for example. The culprit causing the reaction could be anything, from a personal care product (such as soap or shampoo) to food.
In the meantime, avoid excessively hot showers. It's best to stick with cool to lukewarm water to avoid irritating your already-irritated skin! Pat - don't rub - your skin dry. Most importantly, make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible. Good luck...I hope you feel better soon.
-- Contributed by: TsharmaMy rash starts out as a dot then spred to my whole body. Its in a line form, and itches REALLY bad. Some parts of my body, like my feet and hands don't have dots but feel hot and itch. Can you help me figure out what it is? It would be wonderful. Thanks
-- Contributed by: ElizabethDora, thanks so much for your question. I'm sorry to hear about the rash. Have you changed any products in your skincare routine lately? A widespread rash can often be the result of a product (even a laundry detergent), a medication or some sort of underlying condition. I'm concerned about the mention of bruises, bumps and potential bleeding under the skin. I highly recommend visiting your doctor promptly for a concrete diagnosis. Good luck to you!
-- Contributed by: TsharmaI have a extremely uncomortable rash that first appeared 12 days ago. At first thought it was a reaction to medicine. Changed medicine. Rash did not go away. On stomach, back and neck. Red bumps and now brusies located close by along with what looks like bleeding under skin. I have fibromyalgia. Could this be just another symtom of that?
-- Contributed by: DoraCourtney, I'm sorry to hear about your discomfort. This problem definitely sounds like something that needs professional attention. You might be suffering from an allergy of some sort, but there's no way to determine that without having a professional evaluate you. I'd recommend asking your parent or guardian for assistance in this matter; ultimately, your best advice will come from a doctor, and you'll be on your way to feeling better much sooner, too. Good luck!
-- Contributed by: TsharmaAlxias, I'd recommend visiting your dermatologist to receive a concrete diagnosis of your problem. Don't worry, it doesn't sound odd at all - rashes are (unfortunately) very common! Keep it soothed with a gentle moisturizer, such as one containing aloe, in the meantime.
-- Contributed by: TsharmaOuch, Brandie. That has to be painful! Underarm rashes are not uncommon. They can be caused by everything from your deodorant to shaving. You might want to discontinue shaving and wearing deodorant temporarily to see if either of these is your culprit. The pain is certainly cause to be concerned, and I would recommend visiting a dermatologist to determine the exact cause. In the meantime, you may find some relief with a sprinkling of Gold Bond medicated powder directly onto the area. Good luck.
-- Contributed by: Tsharmahello, im so happy i can get a answer of what is going on with me, i am 16 and i broke out with a red bump on my leg one day that itched terriably, it spread to all over both legs and soon began to fill with puss, then scab over, i now only have a few bumps but the one that have gone away are scars now, red colored scars, please help me and tell me what this is, i do not have the money to see a doctor,
-- Contributed by: CourtneyWell this is guna sound odd, but i ave this burning-itchey rach on meh waist. And believe it or not, it kinda looks like a triangle.. I'll try to get a pictre on photobucket and post it later if u want.. I just want to get rid of it..:/
-- Contributed by: AlxiasHi.Every other year or so I get (usually only one time in the year) a horrible rash in my underarms. I've seen a doctor for it twice, the first said it could be a reaction to deoderant. I tried working around that but it didnt help. The second doctor ran a test (only one) for Lukemia(scary thought) and it came back normal. I've also been tested for Aids/hiv and several other diseases with normal results for all. I have no idea what causes these. I am a clean person. The rash is a solid red patch as far as I can tell, It's very painful (but this could be due to the area),it itches but not terribly, and it stays put for a long time no matter what medicine is tried. Any ideas on what it might be?
-- Contributed by: BrandieMarie, you may want to have the blotches checked out by a dermatologist for a concrete diagnosis. Peeling can signify anything from eczema to a sunburn, but you want to know for sure in order to treat it with the appropriate products. You can get some relief in the meantime by keeping the area well moisturized with a soothing lotion. Good luck!
-- Contributed by: TsharmaI have blotces all over my chest and a couple on my arms and legs. There pink and as soon as they show they peel with dry spot in the middle.
-- Contributed by: marieHi Nicki. Thanks for your comment - and sorry to hear about the aggravating skin problem you're dealing with! A bumpy rash can be caused by a variety of culprits. You might want to visit our Skin Rashes article to learn some more about different skin conditions that can result in rashes.
A mild itch can be soothed by an over-the-counter product like Aveeno's body lotion. It contains colloidal oatmeal, which is a natural anti-itch agent that helps to relax those inflamed areas.
Your best move, though, would be to visit a dermatologist. He or she can make an official diagnosis, figure out what's causing it - and hopefully get rid of that pesky problem for good. Good luck!!
