Interesting solution! Thanks for sharing your experience.
-- Contributed by: Tsharmahad this for a long time and I figured out a solution. I used the little cold wax strips from the drug store. it went away a little the first time and I did it again and they are smooth and perfect. If I dont wax it does come back. however, a once a month rip and it stays away. YAY!
-- Contributed by: miracleThanks for the info, LaurieRose! KP is mentioned in the article above - it's quite a common problem.
-- Contributed by: TsharmaIt sounds like those little pimples on the backs of arms aren't pimples but rather a symptom of the skin condition known as Keratosis Pilaris (KP). I have them too and I thought they were pimples but it turns out they aren't. There's a website called littleredbumps.com that is specifically for KP sufferers and can explain everything better than I could. It also tells you all the ways to keep the red bumps from appearing. Hope that helps!
-- Contributed by: LaurieRoseRon, I would recommend consulting a dermatologist if you haven't responded to any basic treatments. Neutrogena makes an excellent cleanser for body acne that really does the trick. However, if the area is darkening and bothers you, see a professional. Good luck.
-- Contributed by: Tsharmai have a large amount of pimple at my back it star in the lower part (in the waist and up to my back of my arm) its very annoying because it turns to dark. i dont squeeze.. why is this happening?? do i need to consult a dermatologist right away??
-- Contributed by: im ronJes, that might do the trick but it's tough to say. If your pimples were caused by keratosis pilaris, you might just want to keep up a good exfoliating regimen in the comfort of your own home. If the marks are severe enough to require chemical treatment, you may see better results that way. Give it a shot, but discontinue the treatment if you experience any discomfort. Good luck.
-- Contributed by: TsharmaHi, I also have some kind of pimples on the back of my upper arms. Actually there are no more pimples, but the discoloration is really annoying because they are really visible everytime I wear short sleever shirt. I am now trying chemical peeling to remove these pigmentation. Do you think it's a good way to get rid of it?
-- Contributed by: JesHi Saskia, thanks for your question! Let's start with that pimple squeezing habit first - you definitely should stop, though I can understand how tempting it can be when you're stressed out. However, popping can cause scarring and marks, so do try to avoid doing this.
Yes, the pimples on the arms can definitely issue some discharge when squeezed. It's important to treat the skin properly. Your first line of defense should be to exfoliate the skin, either with a natural scrub (brown sugar and a bit of olive oil works wonders) or with the DERMAdoctor KP Duty recommended below.
Follow up with a heavy-duty moisturizer like AmLactin XL, which improves the skin's condition and exfoliates dead skin cells. Remember to follow this routine religiously (so long as irritation does not develop) and try to stop picking at your skin. You should hopefully see results soon. Good luck!
-- Contributed by: Tsharmawell im glad to find it so common, when i look around all i see are girls with singlet tops on and i dont have the courage to wear one. my 'pimples' are small red bumps with no white heads, and are on the top of my arms and on the bottom all the way to the wrist, i know i shouldnt but when im bored or stressed i sqeeze them and a stuff comes out, its not really puss like regular pimples, is this normal too?. thanks for the comments i shall use these products asap
-- Contributed by: SaskiaJamie, this is extremely common. It's known as keratosis pilaris in most cases. Treating it takes some patience and work on your part. I recommend exfoliating gently in the shower with DERMAdoctor KP Duty (which is made especially for this condition) and following up with a rich moisturizer, like DERMAdoctor KP Duty. Good luck!
-- Contributed by: TsharmaI have many pimples on my arms, above the elbow not on it, not below it. Well I really need help on getting rid of them. I put some Clean & Clear on it. But I havent done that in a while. Should i try doing that more often? Should I try something better?
-- Contributed by: JamieNanette, this is actually quite common! If your hair is long, start wearing it up for a while as you work on treating your neck blemishes. To start with, invest in a body wash for acne-prone skin, such as Neutrogena's Body Clear. Next, add a treatment to your regimen, like this one by Nature's Cure. Good luck!
