Proactiv didn't work for me. In fact, I'm pretty sure it made it worse! I got a better result by just simply washing my face everyday when I was in the shower and again at night! Proactive made my skin itchy, dry and hurt.

i have been using this proactive but definitely not working i ended up having black spots on my face which is so embarrassing because i always am out for work or college.

proactiv didn't really make my skin break out more or less than it did before, but it DID bleach my eyebrows orange. =/ not really the effect i was looking for, lol.

Everyone had been raving about proactiv and I thought it would do wonders for me i ordered for it all the way from u.s.a,i live in africa.After two days my skin had an awful itchy rash..i looked much worse and wished i had not used it in the first place.definatly not for everyone.

this stuff burned my face off!!! i used a dime size amount like they said and the first time i use it my face is swollen, itchy as ever and RED like burns. so embarassing i can't even go to work!! I bought it at 830pm last night and paid cash. I brought it back today and now i have to wait 2-4 weeks for a corporate refund check!!!!

Fiona, sorry to hear it didn't work out for your cousin! Proactiv is not for everyone, which is why the company offers a 30-day trial kit to give individuals an idea of how it will impact the condition of their skin. The dark marks could be some sort of allergic reaction, in which case it's advised to discontinue use immediately. I hope your cousin found something more effective and soothing for his skin.

I have a teenage cousin who was using your product but his face started getting dark, he was force to stop. It was quiet disappointing after seeing such positive results on your infomercials. Why did his face get dark? Could you explain please?

Alicia, strong acne products can definitely be drying. If you are still interested in continuing with Proactiv, you might consider using it less frequently - perhaps every two days or even just a couple of times a week - to allow your skin to get used to the product. An oil-free moisturizer, preferably one that contains sunscreen, will also help keep the dryness at bay.

If you find it's just too bothersome to deal with the dryness, definitely discontinue use and consult your dermatologist. Good luck!
