Kent, believe it or not, cigarette ashes do work! Results may vary from person to person, but in general it's one of the home remedies that seems to do the trick in most cases. Just dip a cotton ball into the ashes and apply it to the dye.
-- Contributed by: Tsharmaare cigar ashes really effective?
-- Contributed by: kentisnowhereGreat tip, Betsy! Sometimes the most unexpected products appear in our complicated beauty regimens. Thanks for your input.
-- Contributed by: TsharmaI used the Mr clean eraser to get rid of my blue dye stains. Get the Extra strength one. My hair dresser said amonia works well too.
-- Contributed by: BetsyTrudy, it's really best not to panic in cases like this. Hair dye won't hurt you, and as far as I know there's never been a case of it remaining on the skin for a lifetime! It sounds like you've tried almost everything except vodka, which is known to be quite helpful. Good luck.
-- Contributed by: Tsharmai have just dyed my hair using a semi permanant blue but have accidently dyed my hands and in desperate panick 2 get it off i tried varios bathroom cleaners bleach soapy water baby wipes make up wipes cigarette ash sugar salt soap powder washing liquid toothpaste nail polish remover vanish and almost every cleaning product in my house. my hands are now silky soft but also STILL BLUE i need something 2 work asap
-- Contributed by: trudySusan, check out the products in the article. One of those may do the trick. Best of luck.
-- Contributed by: TsharmaI have hair dye from years of coloring my hair on my shoulders and upper back. When wearing a low back blouse it looks bad. How can I remove it? Thanks
-- Contributed by: SusanOh Maria, I'm so sorry to hear that! The dye should come off - and hopefully it's already off by now - but I would not attempt to remove it at home by myself. Visit your dermatologist if your infection has not improved. I'd also consider speaking with the manager of the salon you visited. Though it's not uncommon for dye to get on your skin, it certainly isn't common to end up with an infection after getting your hair dyed. Good luck.
-- Contributed by: Tsharmamy hairdresser left hair dye on my cheek and then placed me under the heat lamp for 40 mins, they scrubbed after which now led to an infection on my face, will the dye ever come off?????
