Sue, I'm afraid I'm not entirely sure if this is recommended or not. I do know of some cases where permethrin is administered to dogs safely, but you may want to check with your vet to be completely sure. Good luck and get well soon!

My daughter and I recently got scabies. Can I use the permthrin cream on my dogs as a precaution or do I need to get something else?

Andr, scabies is typically caused by contact with another individual who has the condition. There is no relation to antibiotics that I am aware of. As for the worst thing that could happen, you risk infecting individuals you come into contact with. Note that scabies can spread through personal items (such as towels and bedspreads), so it is important to seek treatment immediately. Beyond infecting others, you're likely to deal with great discomfort if you do not seek treatment. Good luck!

i think that i have scabies.. may i ask if what is the w0rst thing that c0uld happen t0 a person with scabies.. d0es scabies related t0 n0t finishing the taking of antibi0tics in other illness?? thank you...

Eric, sorry to hear that. Did you apply it as directed - on two occasions, seven days apart? If so and it did not have an effect, you might need stronger treatment. Aloe vera gel is typically used to relieve the irritation of scabies, so it's unlikely that it's causing the recurrence.

i applied permithen cream to my scabies rash about a month ago.. it keeps coming back randomly on my armi think its from moistire (aloe vera gel, shower gel) and i reapply the cream and still it comes back....any help here

Robert, that is so true. Often scabies manifests itself in a manner that resembles acne, which is why it's so important to get it checked out by a professional. Hope you're on your way to feeling better soon!

For the past few weeks i have had symptoms of scabies but i thought that i was just "breaking out" it yurns out that teenagers have a hard time telling if they are having an acne problem or a skin condition

My two children got dignosed with scabies age 5 and 7. They only place that they could have got them from was the hotel that we were staying at for several nights. So, I think you should add hotels to your list of places that you can be infected. This hotel was only opened for about 3 months and that is why I chose it, because the newer the hotel, I thought the cleaner that it would be. I was wrong!!!!!!
