Thanks for your comment! You're so right about peppermint oil - it can certainly cause irritation if used in high concentrations. Most essential oils in facial creams, though, are used in extremely limited quantities. For a recipe like this, no more than one drop is recommended.

Peppermint is included in many popular skin care products; in face products, it's renowned for its ability to clear the senses, cleanse the pores of impurities and stimulate circulation. However, it should not be applied near the eye area and use should be discontinued if any irritation develops.
