Ouch! Sorry to hear about that, J. The tendency to develop skin tags is quite common during pregnancy due to elevated hormone levels. I'd recommend having your dermatologist remove it since it's causing you so much discomfort. This is a quick, easy and relatively painless process (you may feel a tiny pinch). Good luck.

I am pregnant and i have had a skin tag that was normal colored and all a sudden it seems to have gotten a little bigget, has turned red, now dark purple, almost black. It is really painful and of course my hair keeps getting stuck in it! I dont know what to do!!!

Sarge, thanks for sharing! Yes, it can definitely be a relief to get rid of unsightly skin tags. Glad to hear you're on your way to recovery (and muscle shirts!).

Linda, thanks for your question. Skin tag removal, while usually quick and easy, can be a little irritating to the skin. If liquid nitrogen was used, that can often be the cause of the dryness. Keep the area moist by using a gentle, non-irritating, oil-free moisturizer (something basic like Cetaphil's body lotion is a good choice).

I recently had several skin tags removed. I visited a dermotologists office for the removal. It was almost pain free, I've encountered a little pain afterwards in my healing process but I feel so much more confident without them now... I can't wait to wear muscle shirts and go shirtless again as soon as all the scabbs disappear! I'd reccommend this procedure to anyone who has the money to do it as my insurance did NOT cover this!!!

I have problems with skin tags around my neck. It seems that when they're very small, just rubbing them will make them fall off. In the past though, I've had times that after one has been removed, the skin on my neck gets irritated & VERY dry. I keep wondering why I have any after effects just removing a piece of skin. Thanks for any help.

Thanks for your input, Tagger! This is one method that does seem to work for some people. It's a bit of a hit or miss situation; some people with sensitive skin (or anyone with a queasy stomach!) might not be able to handle it. It's great you've found something that works well for you, because those skin tags can be so pesky.

with my skin tag I just pull it out as far as it can go. Then I look for a colour discouloration usually a whitish coulr between the tag and my skin. This is the point that I cut it off. No bleeding or pain, I have cut two off of my body. One on my neck that always caught on a chain, and the other from under my arm.

cheers
